This simplified method is so much easier than the traditional way of making Dresden Plates you'll want to sew one for every occassion! It includes 50 plastic reuseable hexagon templates, complete instructions, re-produceable hexagon graph paper for planning your projects & pop-stick for removing templates for re-use. The hexagons measure 1" on the side edge, 2" point to point & 1 3/4" side edge to side edge. This hand sewn project is so easy to take along and a great way to use scraps (pieces only need to be 2 1/2" square). Make a great scrap project like the one shown or plan a traditional pattern using the graph paper. The technique is easily learned and can be used to make anything from a candle mat to a king sized quilt! (50 hexagons is enough to make up to a twin size quilt 64" x 98"; 100 hexagons will make any project up to a king size quilt 100" x 104"). Using a CD as a template this pattern uses no backing, batting, binding or seam allowances! Sew right on the lines for a perfect circle every time. Once you've made a placemat or table runner you will be able to adapt this pattern to make virtually anything you want from a candle mat to a king size bed spread. Using freezer paper as a pattern you rotary cut all 4 stars and backrounds at the same time!
